Lean UX Workshop

User Experience, or the way that people feel when they interact with technology is undoubtedly key to building a successful product. Traditional UX methodology can be a time consuming and costly process which leaves little time to react and iterate to changes in the market.

Lean UX is the practice of incorporating the Lean Methodology into UX to bring the true nature of our work to light faster, with less emphasis on deliverables and greater focus on the actual experience being designed. Detailed design cycles are replaced in favor of very short, iterative, low-fidelity cycles, with feedback coming from all members of the implementation team and users, as early and often as possible.

Objectives:

The aim of this workshop is to provide the attendees with an overview of UX practices they can introduce in their teams as part of the product development process. In particular how this lean UX techniques can be applied to agile iterative and incremental product lifecycles.

After this training, attendees will have the fundamentals needed to implement these practices inside their teams, better communicate and understand product requirements and use their newly acquired skills to better support other team members.

Requirements:

Familiarity with agile methodologies would be helpful although not indispensable.

Intended audience:

This workshop is directed to anyone working in an agile team whether they have a designer or UX background or not. It is particularly helpful for designers and user experience professionals looking to iron out problems integrating their work into a continuous release lifecycle,  product owners, project managers or product managers looking to extend their UX toolkit and learn to apply it in an agile environment.

Content:

In this full-day workshop, experts in user experience principles and design will provide students with meaningful lessons in the art and science of building great user experiences.

It will focus on giving students a framework and methodology from which to translate their visions into usable, compelling products. It will cover topics ranging from user research and user journeys to prototyping and testing.

The workshop follows a very “hands-on” approach. It is designed to complement and expand skills that the teams using agile methodologies and wanting to apply UX to their process, need. However even if your context is not that of an agile organization it will provide considerable value on its own.
